Mariam Korachy, Architect with a bachelor degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo, 2001. She has received her M.Sc. in conservation of Monuments and Historical sites at the Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation (RLICC) at KULeuven, Belgium in 2010. Her thesis was on the vernacular architecture of Egyptian villages.

She has long experience in heritage conservation projects ranging from rehabilitation of historic areas especially in Historic Cairo, restoration of heritage buildings and museums exhibitions. She is founder of Mariam Korachy Architects, the office conducted architecture, interior design projects and furniture.


Heritage Projects


Mariam Korachy has divers experiences in heritage conservation field, varied between traditional handicrafts documentation, cultural exhibitions, restoration of heritage buildings, rehabilitation of historic areas and urban conservation.


UNESCO consultant within the Urban Regeneration for Historic Cairo project, (www.urhcproject.org). 2011-2014

URHC project launched in July 2010 within the framework of the program Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage in Egypt, in close consultation with UNESCO-World Heritage Centre and the Egyptian Government to provide technical assistance concerning the management of the world heritage site of Historic Cairo.
